The lecture explores whether defenders of human rights can draw ideas and encouragement from Mahatma Gandhi at a time when extremists of diverse hues claim that threats to their religion or nation justify curbs on liberty and equality. It will also ask whether nonviolent and “Gandhian” strategies can indicate an alternative when violent methods alienate world opinion and invite greater oppression.

We hope you will join us.
